There are great improvements you can find in google plus, but it's to me, still not enough, it lines up with products like picasa, google talk, but still not enough. The real social service should be seamless, flawless, should team up all product, like, when you are looking for a restaurant on google map, you can add it to contacts, quickly add a event on calendar, rate it and publish it right away. It's just an example.
